THE RULES OF SPF

This is a great lightweight, non-greasy, sunblock for the face. It does not have a strong scent.

AVEDA

daily light guard™ defense fluid broad spectrum spf 30

Non-chemical 100% mineral-derived sunscreen
• with plant-derived pollution defense: kukui seed oil helps strengthen skin's natural environmental barrier, while an anti-oxidant blend with ginger extracts helps defend against free radical damage
• dermatologist-tested
• non-acnegenic
• for all skin types
• 74% naturally derived

Rule #1

The every two-hour application rule is important, particularly if you’re going to be in direct sun for long stretches of time.

Rule #2

Pump a quarter size amount of SPF in your palm and gently massage it in to your face. (Sprays and powders that make applications easier are harder to get the right amount on your face.)

Rule #3

Check the expiration date on your SPF.

Rule #4

Makeup is never enough, find a sunscreen that works as a nice base under makeup, apply enough and let it set. (I reccomend Aveda daily light guard. I have issues with other sunscreens making my face flaky. The fluid glides on well, just be sure lightly massage onto the face-and NOT grind it in the face.)

Rule #5

Make sure it’s broad-spectrum to ensure protection from both UVA and UVB radiation

And remember that sunscreen never means you’re 100% protected: seek shade wear a hat and sunglasses and if you find anything that looks beyond normal contact your doctor.
